The desulphurisation performance of silicon slag is also very good. This is mainly due to the fact that silicon slag contains large amounts of alkali oxides that can react with sulphur dioxide to form sulphates, and the slurry can be used for flue gas desulphurisation.
Silicon slag has several other uses. Firstly, silicon slag can also be used for steelmaking slag refined pig iron and general foundries. Secondly, its silicon slag can raise furnace temperatures, increase the fluidity of molten iron and effectively discharge slag. Finally, in the process of remelting stainless steel in electric arc furnaces, stainless steel manufacturers use silicon slag as a reducing agent, which can increase efficiency and output.
