What is Ferro Silicon Nitride?

Ferrosilicon nitride (Fe-Si) is a new type of material with Si3N4, free iron, FeSi and a small amount of impurities as the main components. It is made of ferrosilicon (FeSi75) as raw material through nitrogen high-temperature synthesis process. Ferrosilicon nitride has two forms: gray-white and dark brown. Gray-white block ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used for steelmaking, and powdered ferrosilicon nitride is used for blast furnaces and refractory materials.

Application

1. Steel industry: Ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used in the production of oriented silicon steel or HRB400 steel bars in the steel industry. It can stably add a certain amount of nitrogen to the molten steel, and nitrogen is essential for the strengthening of steel. my country consumes hundreds of tons of ferrosilicon nitride every year for this purpose. In addition, in developed countries, ferrosilicon nitride has been widely used in blast furnace tapholes, solving the problem of mud blockage in blast furnaces, meeting the needs of blast furnace tapping, and becoming an indispensable component of modern large blast furnaces.

2. Refractory materials industry: Ferrosilicon nitride contains Si3N4 and Fe, and has the characteristics of good high temperature performance, small thermal expansion coefficient, good thermal shock resistance, and good slag permeability resistance, and is widely used in refractory materials.
