Silicon carbide (SiC) is a covalent compound that rarely exists in nature, with carbon (C) and silicon (Si) bonding in a one-to-one ratio.
Silicon carbide for metallurgical applications is used in iron foundries in induction and cupola furnaces, as a preconditioner to increase the nucleation level of the bare iron, and as an alloying element to replace other carbon and silicon sources. Silicon carbide is also used in steelmaking. Used in industry as a deoxidizer and exothermic agent in ladle and furnaces respectively.
Black silicon carbide products have high hardness, low expansion coefficient, chemical stability, constant toughness and good thermal conductivity. Our silicon carbide can be used in bonded abrasives, coated abrasives and free grinding, electronic product grinding, refractory materials, specialty ceramics, foamed ceramics, coatings and plastic additions and modifications, auto parts, military aviation, steelmaking deoxidizers and widely used in other fields.
